Overmono — Tessela, Truss and the Hessle Audio Background

Ed and Tom Russell built their separate identities — Ed as Tessela (Hessle Audio), Tom as Truss (Semantica) — before combining as Overmono in the mid-2010s. Both brought distinct technical backgrounds: Tessela's broken beat and UK bass approach, Truss's denser, more industrial techno sensibility. The combination produced something that neither approach reached alone: a production identity that moves between club-functional breakbeat and more textural, noise-inflected electronic music with complete technical fluency. The Static design references the noise aesthetic that runs through Truss's influence on the project.
