Four Tet — There Is Love In You, Text Records and UK Electronic Music

Four Tet — Kieran Hebden — has spent over two decades building one of the most consistent bodies of work in UK electronic music. From the folktronica experiments of Rounds (2003) to the dancefloor precision of There Is Love In You (2010) and the later NTS Radio sets, Hebden has operated entirely on his own terms, releasing through his own Text Records and occasionally Domino. Four Tet merch UK, produced in London, from £32.

Four Tet — From Rounds to Sixteen Oceans

The Four Tet discography maps a consistent evolution through distinct phases. Pause (2001) and Rounds (2003) established a template: chopped samples, jazz textures, bedroom electronics with an unusually sophisticated harmonic sense. Everything Ecstatic (2005) pushed toward rhythm. Ringer (2008) was a transitional EP. Then There Is Love In You (2010) arrived as the definitive statement — a record that moved between dancefloor urgency and deep introspection, with Pablo's Heart and Love Cry becoming defining tracks of the era. Pink (2012), Beautiful Rewind (2013), Morning/Evening (2015) and Sixteen Oceans (2020) each refined the approach. The NTS Radio sessions (2017) — six hours of material recorded live — remain the most complete document of Hebden's range.

Four Tet — Text Records, Fabric and the London Scene

Hebden's relationship with London club culture developed gradually from the acoustic electronics of the early records toward a sustained presence in the city's clubs — particularly Fabric, where his Room One appearances became landmarks. Text Records, his own label, has maintained a deliberately minimal release schedule, prioritising quality over quantity. The Four Tet catalogue connects directly to the Ninja Tune generation — Bonobo, Floating Points, Caribou — artists who share the same commitment to long-form listening alongside dancefloor functionality.
